I began repairing hurleys in 1997 while still in secondary school. It was during this time that I became fascinated by the variety of shapes and patterns each hurley had. In the summer of 2000, I decided to start making hurleys from scratch, initially working in my parents' timber garden shed before eventually taking over their garage!
My journey started with basic woodworking hand tools—spokeshaves, a hand block planer, an electric jigsaw, and sandpaper—all of which were already in the garage, as my father, a carpenter, taught me how to use them.
In 2006, I officially registered the business. For several summers, I crafted hurleys while pursuing my studies at university and working as a teacher. In 2012, I decided to take the plunge and, by 2014, I was working full-time making hurleys in a purpose-built, industrial-sized workshop.
Our journey began with a simple belief: that every player, from amateur enthusiasts to seasoned athletes, deserves a hurley that feels like an extension of themselves. That's why we use only the finest ash wood, sourced locally and sustainably, to handcraft hurleys that balance strength, flexibility, and precision.
